Good daaaay and a happy Friday to you, as always.
I know that British people always talk about the weather (and I’ve really tried to avoid the subject on my newsletter) BUT SERIOUSLY, what is going on?! I’m currently in my fluffy socks, comfy trousers, jumper, still cold, AND making a beef pho for lunch because I need extra warming up. And yes, I refuse to put the heating on.
If you are also cold, then I have a few recipes I made this week you might enjoy like my deconstructed ravioli soup (so fun) and my prawn chorizo chickpea pie (crunchy, saucy, delicious).
If you are lucky and have gloriously warm weather, then why not try my cheese and bacon muffins that are truly scrumptious. Or my easy vermicelli noodles which are made in one pan and perfect for a summer’s day.
I DID A THING
In the words of Jeremy Clarkson, I DID A THING this week. A very exciting thing. I attended the Guild of Food Writers Awards. Now, for those of you who don’t know what that is…The Guild of Food Writers is the professional association of food writers and broadcasters in the UK. You have to apply, and it’s full of very very very talented people (I’m talking Delia Smith vibes).
I applied last year and got accepted because of the work I do on my blog and with brands. However, the imposter syndrome kicked in big time when I walked into a room of prestigious and OG food writers, broadcasters, and enthusiasts. Despite my anxiety, everyone was bloody lovely. I bumped into a few people I love and know well, but also made some new delightful foodie friends. The awards ceremony was full of whoops and cheers, and finished off with the one and only Prue Leith giving a hilarious speech for winning the Lifetime Achievement Award (seriously, pinch me - see image below so you know I’m not fibbing).
Before I ramble on about the evening, I’ll be posting a YouTube all about it next week, so feel free to subscribe HERE if you don’t want to miss it!!
Pre-order my cookbook!
Firstly, I want to say a HUGE thank you to YOU if you’ve bought the book, it means the world to me and I’m so excited for it to come flying through your door on the 29th August!
If you’re at all tempted to buy the book but haven’t done so yet, please go for it!! Pre-order sales make a massive difference to the success of the book, so if you love dumplings, you have a friend who loves dumplings, or you just want to support me and this business, then go ahead and buy ‘The World Is Your Dumpling’. I’ll be forever thankful :)

I think I had the best brisket burger EVER this week. If you want to find out more about it, check out my YouTube below! :)
Recipe Round Up!
Cheese & Bacon Muffins - This recipe is one of my favourite things to make for breakfast or as a midweek snack. Taking less than 5 minutes to prepare, these bacon cheese muffins are made combining a handful of simple ingredients and result in the most delicious, moist, flavourful bite!
Deconstructed Ravioli Soup - I am obsessed with ravioli and love making it from scratch, but sometimes if I’m too tired or don’t have enough time, then this deconstructed version is perfect to satisfy my cravings. I think you’re going to love it.Â
Prawn Chorizo Chickpea Pie - This is my crispy Prawn Chorizo Chickpea Pie and it’s perfect for summer because it combines all the flavours of a fresh and spicy meal, almost Spanish holiday kind of vibe, but still holds that comforting element I absolutely love. Give it a go and I promise you it won’t disappoint.Â
Egg Noodles with Ground Beef (chili oil edition) - It's mildly spicy, saucy, and topped with cilantro, cucumber, and green onions for freshness. It comes together in less than 15 minutes and is a perfect midweek dinner or a dish to impress your guests.
Wow, I feel like that was information and recipe overload. But, I hope you enjoy the recipes and as always, let me know if you give them a go or leave a comment on the blog!
See you next week my little bacon and cheese muffin,
Em xx
