Happy 2024 everyone! I hope you all had a glorious festive period and feel refreshed and ready for the new year.
I took a couple of weeks off social media which enabled me to have a creative reset. However, I was still working…on a very exciting project. I can’t spill the beans on it yet, but you’ll all know within the next few months, so stay tuned!
Every year, there’s a “new year” trend, and this year, it seems to be “ins and outs”. Now, for those of you who aren’t aware of this trend, it’s basically where you share elements of your life that you want to remove (out) from you life in the new year, and ones you want to bring *in* to your life. These things vary from everyday habits, to affirmations, and so on. So, I thought it would be fun to share my food related “ins and outs” with you, and oooobviously please reply to me via DM or email telling me yours!!
IN:
More fruit!! I’ve been really good at eating blueberries (I am 99% that these are the reason I’ve not got a single cold for the past 3 months), but I really need to get better at consuming more of a variety, so that’s IN number 1!!
Diversifying where I go out to eat. I’m desperate to visit different parts of London (and the world) to discover new dishes, flavours, and ingredients. I had Ethiopian food for the first time a couple of months ago (incredible), and I’d love to dive into cuisines that I’ve never had before. If you’ve got any fun recommendations of small, independent restaurants around London, please let me know!!
Hosting dinner parties. I LOVE cooking for friends. But because of covid and then moving to London, it’s all been a bit of a whirlwind so I haven’t been able to host as much as I’d like to. However, I’m starting the new year off very well, because this week alone I’m having THREE different sets of friends round. Some people find hosting exhausting (which I totally get), but I absolutely love it. Friends, food, laughs, and maybe some games if we’re not too distracted chatting away = the perfect evening.
OUT:
Crap bread. Life is too short to eat cardboardy processed bread. Yes, nice bread is more expensive, but I like to see it as an investment. An investment into my happiness and health (that’s what I like to tell myself anyway).
(I think that’s it?!).
